HOPING TO BREAK CONNECTION BETWEEN 9/11 AND MUSLIMS CAIR HOSTS WALK AGAINST ISLAMOPHOBIA IN DALLAS,TEXAS

More than a decade after the 9/11 attacks inspired widespread animosity toward the Islamic faith, many Muslims say they continue to experience bias, hate and misunderstanding.

On Saturday, a group of about 80 Muslim activists gathered at Reverchon Park in Dallas’ Oak Lawn area for a walk to raise awareness about the issue.

Walk Against Islamophobia was hosted by the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and a group of young Muslim activists called Enlightened Generations.

Yvonne Munoz, a lawyer with a Christian upbringing, converted to Islam in 2008. Proudly wearing a black head scarf, she said she regularly said she faces discrimination at work.

“I deal with Islamophobia on a regular basis with clients all the time,” Munoz said. “Automatically my clients will not want to meet with me and want somebody else. Once they meet with me and find that I am kind and helpful and ... they change their idea.”

Munoz took part in the walk with the group American Muslim Professionals.

Although the 9/11 attacks were carried out by Islamic extremists loyal to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, some people associate all Muslims with terrorism. Munoz and others hope events like Saturday’s walk might help break that connection in people’s minds.

“Islam brought peace in my life,” Munoz said. “I was able to put myself through a lot of struggles I would not have been able to do if I didn’t find a peace.”

Before the walk began, participants heard speakers share personal experiences of discrimination. One speaker, Dallas activist Nicole Queen, said that during a recent lunch with a friend, someone put bacon in her drink as a joke.

“They were hoping I would slurp it or eat something I am not supposed to eat,” Queen said. “I did not have anything like that happen before until I chose to be a Muslim. It was eye-opening to me,” Queen said.

MUSLIM CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTING TO JOIN JIHAD IN SYRIA (AUSTRALIA)

Amin Mohamed, 23, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday, charged over his alleged attempt to join the war in Syria.



Police allege he prepared to go to Syria last September ''with intent to engage … in armed hostilities''. According to his charge sheet, he allegedly obtained a mobile phone number under a false name and applied for a New Zealand passport to enter Syria.



He also allegedly bought a plane ticket to Istanbul, Turkey and obtained contact details of one Mohammed Ali Baryalei, also known as Abu Omar, in Turkey to help him travel to Syria.



It is believed the NZ passport was cancelled, which led to him being sent to Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. Federal police then discovered the alleged offences from Victoria.



Mr Mohamed has been charged with four counts of preparing to commit an offence under the Crimes (Foreign Incursions and Recruitment) Act 1978. The crime carries a maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment.



He may be transferred to Maribyrnong Immigration Transit Accommodation, his lawyer Paul Jansen said.

MUSLIM JIHADI FROM FLORIDA BECOMES FIRST AMERICAN SUICIDE BOMBER TO BLOW HIMSELF UP IN SYRIA

A man who is believed to have been the first known American suicide bomber in Syria was from South Florida, according to a U.S. official.

Authorities are exploring whether the young man, whose name has not been disclosed, traveled to Syria more than once, the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss details of the investigation.

Reports that an American was involved in the suicide attack in the northern province of Idlib on Sunday surfaced online this week. A video posted by the Jabhat al-Nusra, a group linked to al-Qaeda, showed him and another fighter packing a large truck with shells and purportedly driving toward their destination.

The camera then shows a massive explosion in the Idlib countryside, alongside a picture of the man said to be the American cradling a kitten. He was identified as Abu Huraira al-Amriki, “the American.”

A statement by Jabhat al-Nusra said the attack was one of four coordinated suicide bombings against government positions, in which two other foreign fighters and a Syrian participated. Jihadis on social media identified the two other foreigners as a Maldivan and a Turkestani.

PUL-I-KUMRI, Afghanistan — Zahra said a neighbor raped her in her home on Friday. It was the most humiliating event in her unremittingly painful life, and the next day she begged her husband, Najibullah, to move their family so the man could not attack her again. He refused.



On Sunday afternoon, she poured kerosene over Najibullah and lit him on fire.



“I stepped back and watched him burn,” Zahra said. “I thought, ‘Someone is going to die, and it is going to be him or it is going to be me.’ ”



Since then, she has been held at the women’s shelter here as investigators try to sort out the facts of the case. For his part, Najibullah, in a brief interview with a reporter at the hospital here, said that he believed she had attacked him because she was mentally ill. But his condition was still too poor for prosecutors to fully question him.



Her violent act has unexpectedly brought quiet expressions of support from other Afghan women, some of whom say they are fed up with lives of abuse with no recourse. And it immediately evoked a morbid fascination in the Afghan news media; on Monday, local reporters unabashedly walked into the hospital where Zahra’s husband is being treated for first- and second-degree burns, peering into rooms and asking doctors, “Where is the man who was set on fire by his wife?”



In Zahra’s confession to the police, she said she had endured years of abuse and mistreatment. She pulled down her shirt to show heavy scarring on her chest and shoulders — evidence, she said, of the time when her husband had burned her to try to induce a miscarriage.



She said her father married her off the first time to a man who drank. When she became pregnant, her husband tried to force her to drink, and divorced her after the birth of Mirsa — but not before impregnating her again.



Zahra was then about 30 years old, she said, and her father almost immediately forced her to marry again, this time to Najibullah, a man at least 30 years older than she. As with many Afghans, both use just one name.



“I did not want to marry that old man,” she said, adding that she knew it would go badly because she was pregnant. Najibullah was furious when he found out, she said, and in an effort to get her to miscarry, he burned her.



She did not miscarry, but that baby died four months after delivery. Daily life was a recurring bad dream.



“I used to say to him, ‘You are fine when you beat me and when you choke me, but you’re sick when you need to work to feed my children.’ ”



She said the last straw was when their neighbor raped her on Friday. The man had pursued her, and she had told her husband, but Najibullah protested that he could do little about it, perhaps in part because a stroke had left one of his legs paralyzed below the knee.



The man came to their house and, with her husband in the next room, forced her to have sex with him, she said.



“He cried when I told him and said, ‘I knew it but I couldn’t do anything. I wish God had given me the power to stop him,’ ” she recounted her husband saying.


She begged him to move the family away, saying she felt exposed and vulnerable in the house and feared the man would return, but she said he ignored her. She felt she had to act.



She has not been charged yet, though local officials say it is clear she will be. For her part, she most of all wants to go back to her parents, if they would accept her. Even though she believes her father began her life of misery by forcing her into abusive marriages, at least she did not feel so persecuted in her parents’ home, she said.



She said she had just two things to ask of her parents: “Either kill me or let me live with you, because I don’t want to be a victim again, nor do I want to kill anyone else.”

Police claim to have cracked a major methamphetamine trafficking syndicate after a four-month probe netted more than $8 million of the drug.



Detectives from the Organised Crime Squad led the protracted sting with a series of raids on properties in Kewdale, Munster and Bibra Lake and say they have seized four kilograms of methamphetamine.



Five men and a woman have been charged, including the president of the WA Islamic Council Dr Rateb Jneid, 43, who faces a firearms charge. Two of his brothers, Ziad and Rabih Jneid, have pleaded not guilty to drugs charges.



Detective Inspector Chris Adams said police had effectively cracked the back of a national drug smuggling racket and the methamphetamine seizure was one of the "most significant" in recent times.



"This is a sophisticated and complex organised crime syndicate... To be able to distribute large quantities requires detailed planning, co-ordination and a tight-knit syndicate," Detective Inspector Adams said on Thursday.



"When you are caught in possession of up to four kilograms [of methamphetamine]...you are significant importer of crystal methamphetamine."

POLICE DISMANTLE A RING THAT SENT MUSLIMS TO WAGE JIHAD IN MALI AND LIBYA,ARRESTING SIX MUSLIMS (SPAIN)

MELILLA, Spain – Police have dismantled a ring in the Spanish North African enclave of Melilla that recruited and sent jihadist terrorists to Mali and Libya, arresting six people thus far in the ongoing operation.



The detainees include the “first Spanish jihadist” to have returned from the conflict in Mali, according to Spain’s Interior Ministry, which said the suspect passed through training camps run by the Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa in that country.



The six detainees were taken to the airport in Melilla for transfer to Madrid, where they will be turned over to judicial authorities.



Spanish National Police and Civil Guard agents carried out the operation early Friday in Melilla, a Spanish city bordering Morocco.



Sources close to the investigation told Efe that police conducted eight raids in Muslim-majority neighborhoods on the city’s outskirts.




Spanish and Moroccan police dealt a severe blow in March to Spain’s most active jihadist cell, which was tasked with recruiting volunteers for terrorist groups linked to Al Qaeda, especially those based in conflict-ridden countries such as Mali and Syria.



Seven people were arrested in that operation, three of them in Melilla, including suspected ringleader Mustafa Maya Amaya.



After the latest arrests in Melilla, Spain’s secretary of state for security, Francisco Martinez, said “today Spain and the entire European Union” are more secure from the threat of radical Islam.



“It’s prudent to wait because some more arrests or raids may still be forthcoming,” he said.

MUSLIM KNOWN AS "AL QAEDA LIBRARIAN" SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR BELONGING TO TERRORIST ORGANIZATION (SPAIN)

A court in Spain on Thursday convicted a Saudi man dubbed “al-Qaeda’s librarian” of the charge of membership in a terrorist organisation and sentenced him to eight years in jail.



The National Court, the top criminal court in the country, also ordered that Mudhar Hussein Almalki be put on probation for nine years after his release from jail.



A three-judge panel ruled that the Jordanian-born Saudi national “belonged to the propaganda apparatus of the Ansar al Mujahideen Network since 2006” which is “without a doubt” an “al-Qaeda satellite group”.



Almalki ran online forums linked to this group dedicated to “recruiting terrorists” and glorified Mohamed Merah, a self-proclaimed jihadist who killed four Jews, including three children, and three soldiers in France in 2012, the court said in its written ruling.



“The defendant’s activity, part of the so-called ‘jihad through words’, consisted of distributing all types of material that exalts jihadist terrorism, terrorist groups with a Salafist jihadist ideology and manuals that directly contribute to terrorist training,” it said.



The court said Almalki drew up a list of targets which included former British prime minister Tony Blair, former Spanish prime minister Jose Maria Aznar and former US presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton, who he called “war criminals”.



Police detained Almalki, who has lived in Spain since 1980, in March 2012 in the eastern city of Valencia. He was 51 years old at the time.



Spanish Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz said at the time that Almalki “administered one of the world’s most important jihadist forums” and was known within the organisation as “Al-Qaeda’s librarian”.



During his trial last month Almalki denied belonging to Al-Qaeda or following the group’s orders and said books and weapons manuals found in his home had nothing to do with the outfit.



“I had those books and manuals because I collected them. I collected everything about the war between the United States and al-Qaeda,” he said.



He acknowledged calling the former leaders “war criminals” but denied having identified them as targets.



“Many people, including artists, protested against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and nothing happened to them, everyone was against it and the killing of innocent people,” he told the court.

When young American men don’t get laid, they do one of four things: 1) use their hand; 2) become Bronies; 3) go on killing sprees allegedly because of being rejected; or 4) convert to Islam and blow themselves up. American Muslim convert Abu Hurayra al-Amriki chose #4. To accomplish his task and receive virgins, everlasting servant boys and booze in jannat al-firdaus, al-Amriki traveled to Syria and joined up with the Jabhat al-Nusra jihadist group.

The jihadists immediately put their willing volunteer to use. They picked a target in Idlib province, a government-controlled site they wanted to liberate (read: detonate.) He and a couple other jihadists loaded up a truck with explosives. He then drove the jihadmobile to its – and his – final destination. It is unknown how many were killed, but there was a huge explosion.

al-Amriki was the first American citizen to carry out a “martyrdom operation” in Syria. Unfortunately, given the groundswell of support for the jihad over there, many more Muslims are likely to join him.

COURT RULES STATE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT DID NOT VIOLATE MUSLIM INMATE'S RIGHTS TO EXERCISE HIS RELIGION BY DENYING TO SERVE HIM KOSHER MEALS BECAUSE HE CLAIMED PRISON DISH WASHING SYSTEM DOES NOT FOLLOW ISLAMIC PROCESS OF CLEANING UTENSILS TO REMOVE ANY RESIDUE OF PORK (PENNSYLVANIA)

The state Corrections Department isn't violating a Muslim prisoner's right to exercise his religion by refusing to serve him the same kosher meals provided to Jewish inmates, Commonwealth Court ruled Tuesday.



Inmate Sean Pressley, who has been behind bars for 20 years, argued that he needed the kosher meals, because the dishwashing system at the state prison at Mahanoy in Schuylkill County doesn't follow the Islamic process for purging cooking and eating utensils of any residue of pork.



The Jewish and Islamic religious traditions forbid the consumption of pork, which is considered to be "impure."



The prison kitchens use chemicals and water to clean cooking and eating utensils, which sometimes are used to cook and serve meals involving pork products. Pressley insisted during his years-long court battle that, to follow the Muslim mandate, the Corrections Department should have washed them six times with clean water, then once with water and earth to remove any pork residue.



He argued that his religious rights were being violated because some residue of unclean pork might have escaped the prison cleaning process. Serving him pork-free kosher meals, which bypass the regular prison cooking and cleaning process, would ensure he was not exposed to any unclean food, Pressley contended.



Yet the Corrections Department countered that Pressley's proposition would be too costly, especially if it was required to provide kosher meals to the approximately 10,000 Muslims held in Pennsylvania's prisons.



Pressley began his legal battle in 2009 by filing a grievance that Corrections Department officials denied. He appealed to Commonwealth Court and won an interim victory in 2011, when the judges refused a plea by state officials to dismiss his case.



In the Commonwealth Court ruling issued Tuesday, Judge Bernard L. McGinley wrote that Pressley had failed to prove state officials were denying him his right to exercise his religion freely.



The judge noted the Correction's Department concerns that its food service costs would soar, if all Muslim inmates had to receive the kosher meals now provided only to Jewish prisoners.



Those kosher meals consist of pre-packaged grain products and fruits and vegetables that are served in Styrofoam trays with plastic utensils. In court filings, state officials said it costs $3.49 to provide three regular meals per inmate daily, compared with $5.95 for the same number of kosher meals.



The Corrections Department argued as well that Pressley's religious rights are protected because he can select an alternate protein source diet that, while not actually kosher, contains no animal flesh or byproducts.



The legal battle over Pressley's push for kosher diet isn't over, however.



McGinley noted that his court still needs to hear more argument as to whether Pressley has a case under the federal Religious Land Use and Institutional Persons Act.



That law bars the government from enforcing rules that place a substantial burden on prisoners trying to exercise their religions unless it can show there is a compelling reason for those rules and that they are the least restrictive means of accomplishing the government's aims.

He rails against non-believers and those who abandon their religion, whom he says “Allah hates.” He says their blood and souls, their women and children, all are “fair game.”

“This video is to all the Muslim youth and to all the Muslims worldwide,” he says. “This is a call to the truth. It is the call to help and aid in the party of Allah, and help the ummah (nation) and bring back honor to the din (faith) of Allah. And pay him back for every sister that has been raped and every brother that has been tortured and raped and every ... Muslim death in Chechnya and Bosnia and Kosovo and Afghanistan and Pakistan and Somalia and Iraq and Yemen and elsewhere.

“And this is payback for Sheikh Osama Bin Laden.”

The video was the first exhibit shown to jurors in Osmakac’s terrorism trial Wednesday. The prosecution says the video is clear evidence that Osmakac planned to wreak havoc in the Tampa area.

The video was made just after the undercover agent, testifying Wednesday under the name Amir, said he gave Osmakac what Osmakac didn’t know were inert explosives and hand grenades. The agent said he also gave him the handgun and a fully automatic AK-47 seen propped against a door in the background of Osmakac’s martyrdom video.

The agent said the video was Osmakac’s idea, as was the purchase of weapons from the agent, whom Osmakac had met through a paid informant.

A London hate preacher jailed after calling for 9/11-style attacks across Europe has sparked fresh outrage after defending the kidnapping of more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls.



In videos posted online, Mizanur Rahman praises Boko Haram, the terrorist group behind the kidnapping, for angering the West and suggests it is “not necessarily a bad thing” if they kill non-Muslims.



The clips raise fresh questions about the extent to which Britons, including the young, are being radicalised over the internet. Children can be heard in the background in one two-hour rant.



Scotland Yard detectives are now probing the videos after being alerted to them by the Standard.



In a video posted last week Rahman, a student of firebrand preacher Anjem Choudary and banned cleric Omar Bakri, says: “People want to make it out as though history began on the day these girls were taken from – sorry I should say these women – were taken from this high school in Nigeria.



“They didn’t do to these girls what the Nigerian government had been doing to the Muslims all these years – they didn’t rape anybody, they didn’t torture, they didn’t murder any of these girls.”



He then rants about the group being “full of good messages”, including its support for al-Qaeda. In another video, he says there is “not any evidence” the group has targeted Muslims or non-Muslims, adding: “I’m not saying it is or isn’t [a problem to kill non-Muslims].”

EUROPOL REPORT REVEALS FRANCE TERROR CAPITAL OF EU

Three people were killed, there were 63 terrorist attacks and 225 arrests for terror-related offences.



Those are the figures taken from the 2013 end-of-year report into terrorist activity in France, that easily make it the country in Europe most affected by extremist attacks.



In all seven people were killed across Europe last year - three Kurdish women in Paris, a British soldier in London and two members of a far-right extremist group in Athens.



Europol's report, released on Wednesday, revealed the "continuing terrorist threat posed to the security of citizens and interests of the European Union".



"Be it right or left-wing extremism, separatism or religiously-motivated acts, we need to step up our work to respond to the threat of radicalization. Radicalization leading to violent terrorism is a gradual process and does not happen overnight. In times when populist movements and xenophobic winds are sweeping across Europe, it is more important than ever to keep this in mind." says Commissioner Cecilia Malmström.



But that threat appears to be most prominent in France.



The 63 attacks related to terrorism in France were out of a total of 152 across Europe, the UK was ranked second with 35 incidents and Spain third with 33 (see map below for other countries).



Those attacks in France included:



The gunning down of three high-ranking members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Paris, in January 2013.




A French soldier targeted in a non-fatal knife attack in La Défense near Paris, by an individual who converted to Islam and was radicalized.



The 225 arrests in France represented almost half of the total of 525 arrests across Europe in 2013 and put the country far ahead of Spain on 99 and the UK on 77.

Those arrests included:

In March 2013, weapons and explosive material found at the homes of three suspects arrested in Marignane, who reportedly sought to emulate Toulouse gunman Mohamed Merah.

In October 2013, three individuals linked to the group responsible for a 2012 grenade attack on a Jewish grocery store in Paris were arrested. Material said to be for intended terrorist attacks was also found.

In February 2013 17 Kurds were arrested on suspicion of raising funds for the PKK.

Over half of the arrests in France were for religious inspired terrorism as the map below demonstrates, many of which were related to financing and recruitment.

TEACHER SENTENCED TO 15 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR INSULTING ISLAM WITH HIS TWITTER HANDLE @ALLAHCC (TURKEY)

A Turkish teacher has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for insulting Islam with his Twitter handle @__AllahCC__ , the Hurriyet daily newspaper reported on its website.



Ertan P. was sentenced in the eastern province of Muş on charges of “humiliating the religious values accepted by a part of the people.”



Prosecutors accused him of “writing harmful content” and embodying the name of Allah and the Prophet.



The abbreviation CC comes from of the Arabic expression “Celle Celaluhu” (or Jella Jelaluhu), meaning “[Allah’s] glory is so almighty.”



Ertan P. claimed his account had been hacked and appealed against the sentence, Hurriyet said.



“The suspect has accepted the use of the nickname and the posts, but in order to avoid the crime, he said posts could have been written after the account was hacked. It is understood that this claim is unfounded and the investigation files prove him guilty as charged,” the indictment said.



Pretending to tweet as Allah, he wrote: “In my present state of mind, I would not have created the little finger of human beings.”



“Here (heaven) is very safe because there is no police,” he tweeted in reference to police crackdown on protesters during mass anti-government demonstrations in June last year, according to AFP.



Last year a Turkish court sentenced prominent pianist Fazıl Say for re-tweeting a poem by 11th-century Persian poet Omar Khayyam poking fun at the Muslim vision of the afterlife.



The Islamic-rooted government banned Twitter in March after the micro-blogging site was used to spread corruption allegations against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his inner circle.



The ban, which earned Turkey a strong rebuke from rights groups and its Western allies, was lifted two weeks later after the country’s top court ruled that it violated rights.



Citing the same reason, the Constitutional Court on Thursday lifted a similar ban on Youtube, also imposed in March after the website was used to spread damaging leaked audio files from a state security meeting debating possible military action in Syria.

In his edict (Fatwa) which sparked an uproar among users of social network sites, he said chats between men and women through the internet is khalwa (man being alone with a woman). He justified it by saying that talks between the two would become personal, and only Allah knew what was going on between them. He called on women to avoid talking with men through social networking sites.



The edict or fatwa of Sheikh Al Mutlaq echoed on Twitter and the views varied. A number of supporters agreed with Sheikh Al Mutlaq. Some likened it with the opinion of the late Sheikh Abdullah bin Jabreen who said no man is allowed to correspond with a foreign woman as that leads to seduction. The one who sends the message might think it is not a seduction, but Satan will tempt him or her. He regarded the correspondence of young men to young women a serious seduction and great danger which should be avoided.

HAMAS PAYS SALARIES OF $1,150-$1,440 TO YOUNG MUSLIMS TO HARASS AND THROW STONES AT JEWS ENTERING TEMPLE MOUNT

Israel arrested a major Hamas figure earlier this month as he attempted to infiltrate the country via the Allenby Bridge crossing, the Shin Bet security service revealed Thursday afternoon. Mahmoud Toameh, a “top-ranking overseas operative of Hamas,” gave the security agency a wealth of details about the activities of the radical Islamic group during his interrogation, it said, including its funding sources, international activities and activities inside Israel. Notably, he revealed that Hamas pays hundreds of young Israeli Arab citizens to harass Jews seeking to enter the Temple Mount area



In his interrogation, Toameh revealed that Hamas works with the Islamic Movement (an Israeli organization that promotes Islam among Israel’s Arab citizens) to keep Jews from entering the Temple Mount compound, by retaining a group of young men to harass and throw stones at Jewish visitors. These men, who ostensibly are studying Islamic theology at the site, are paid a monthly salary of NIS 4,000 to NIS 5000 ($1,150-$1,440) for their activities, the Shin Bet said.

As nations’ Muslim populations increase, they gradually witness their freedoms erode. Such is the case in the Maldives, where sharia has been implemented piece by piece. First came the restrictions on the sale of pork and alcohol. Then came the prohibition on non-Muslims from voting. Now, under current president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, one of the final elements of sharia will be implemented – the death penalty.

Gayoom’s version of sharia will be applied to more citizens than in other countries – the death penalty will be handed out to children as young as ten for the crime of murder. The penalty would be carried out when the accused turned 18. Seven-year-olds will be held criminally responsible for the crimes of theft, fornication, drinking, and apostasy. Yet again it would seem the thought of children engaging in sex acts crossed Muslims’ collective minds. Also, if a small child were to drink alcohol, they probably wouldn’t know what it was and should thus not be held criminally responsible. Or maybe they’re just a hardcore kindergartener. Either way, sentencing them to sharia hudud (punishment) is a completely disproportionate reaction.

Gayoom commented on the implementation of the death penalty: “murder has to be punished with murder.” So… everyone murders everyone? Makes perfect sense. Why did Gayoom insist on instating sharia? To “save Islam,” of course. Because something that punishes seven-year-olds for accidentally stumbling onto their parents’ liquor stash and sentences 10-year-olds to die is totally worth saving.

MUSLIM ADVOCATES ALLEGEDLY WORKING WITH FACEBOOK,TWITTER AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA SITES TO CLOSE DOWN ACCOUNTS CRITICAL OF ISLAM

On Wednesday, Dave Gaubatz, a former Air Force investigator and author of "Muslim Mafia," told Examiner.com that he "infiltrated" a Muslim conference held in Detroit earlier this month. While at the conference, he reportedly spoke to a representative of a group known as Muslim Advocates, who said the organization is working "closely" with social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to close down accounts of users critical of Islam.



"They are asking these groups to close the accounts of anyone who is critical of Islam," he said. "This is considered serious hate speech and should not be allowed on the Internet."



According to Gaubatz, the representative also said that "anyone critical of Islam and sharia law are haters." Ditto for those who oppose either the construction or expansion of a mosque in the United States.



"We are experts with deep experience in the courtroom and powerful connections in Congress and the White House," Gaubatz recalled being told by the Muslim Advocates representative.



"This should be of no surprise to anyone," Gaubatz said.



Gaubatz also said the conference, which was attended by representatives and leaders from several groups, should have been named the "U.S. Constitution and the 1st Amendment are for MB terrorists and not for American Patriots." For four days, he said, he stayed at the same hotel as leaders from over a dozen groups that support the Muslim Brotherhood.



But Gaubatz' report of collusion between these groups and social media sites like Facebook and Twitter present a clear danger to the fundamental right of free speech and Americans' ability to freely express themselves online. As we have reported multiple times, Muslim activists have called for global blasphemy bans and an end to free speech in the United States, despite the clear language of the First Amendment.

RIOT POLICE BULLDOZE OVER FILTHY CAMPS SET UP BY THE MUSLIM OPPORTUNISTS WAITING TO CROSS INTO UK (FRANCE)

French police have begun expelling around 650 migrants from camps in the northern port of Calais, despite opposition from rights groups supporting asylum seekers.

Several of the migrants left voluntarily when they saw the busloads of riot police arrive and surround their camps, from which they had hoped to cross to Britain.



Confusion was widespread, notably at one of the largest camps housing mainly Syrian and Afghan exiles, as the migrants say they have nowhere else to go.



"The people are on edge and are looking for the place where they will feel the safest," said Cecile Bossy, from the France-based Doctors of the World NGO.



The authorities say the expulsion is aimed at stopping an outbreak of scabies in the camps.



The 200 riot police and gendarmes were met with protests at the Batellerie camp, where activists from the No Border rights group blocked the road.



A second camp, on Rue Lamy, was the scene of disturbances among the Syrian migrants, La Voix du Nord newspaper reported.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has been criticized for suggesting that force should not be used to promote cultural values in the country.



“Do not interfere in people’s lives so much, even if it is out of compassion,” Rouhani said at a health insurance conference on May 24 arranged by the administration. “Let people pick their own path to heaven. One cannot take people to heaven through force and a whip. The Prophet [Mohammad] did not have a whip in his hand.”



Today, May 27, influential conservative Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami responded, “They say let people be and don’t take them to heaven by force.” He addressed “the administration” rather than Rouhani specifically.



He added sarcastically, “Fine, we’ll suspend [the religious duty of] commanding the good and forbidding evil. To the thief, and to the girl and guy with bad veiling, we’ll say, ‘Be a good child.’ Is this Islam, is this having the concern of implementing religion?”



“We have to protect our Islamic system,” Khatami continued. “We do not want to send anyone to heaven by force, but with your statements, do not straighten the path to hell for anyone.”

SHARIA COURT SENTENCES MAN TO TWO MONTHS IN JAIL AND FINE OF $1242.93 FOR POSSESSING TWO BOOKS DEEMED TO BE "AGAINST ISLAM" AND FOR DISRESPECTING RELIGIOUS AUTHORITY (MALAYSIA)

KUALA LUMPUR—A senior citizen was jailed two months and fined a total of Ringgit Malaysia (RM) 4,000 (US$ 1242.93) by the Sharia High Court here on Tuesday for possessing two books, which were deemed to be against Islam and for disrespecting the religious authority.



‎Sharia judge Muhamad Abdul Karim Wahab sentenced Kamarulzaman Karim, 61, to two months’ jail and a fine of RM 1,000 (US$ 310.73) for possessing the books entitled Al Furqan and Tabut – Penjelasan Tentang Segala Sesuatu by Haji Ahmad Kahar Haji Ahmad Jalal



Judge Muhamad also fined Kamarulzaman RM 3,000 (US$ 932.20) for the offence of disrespecting the religious authority or disobeying, breaching or disputing the mufti.



“‎These deviant teachings are uploaded on social media everyday and I view this issue seriously. There is still room for you to repent. As a rational and matured person, you should reject the books,” said judge Muhamad upon passing the sentence.



In asking for leniency, the contract worker, who was unrepresented, said he had a son and three daughters, one of whom was still in school. Kamarulzaman said he also had to support his wife.



He also told the court that he chose to attend Islamic religious courses after he was charged on Apr 22 and has since repented.



Kamarulzaman said he had received the two books from Ahmad Kahar in 2008 and had kept them in a briefcase for fear that his wife would scold him if she saw them.



When Kamarulzaman was first produced in court on Apr 22, he had pleaded guilty to possessing the books.

You know your country’s in trouble when you start taking the blithering rants of religious idiots seriously. You know you’re in even deeper trouble when said idiots have some degree of governmental influence. For those wondering, the country I’m talking about here is Malaysia and the idiots are seventh-century celebrants like Islamic scholar Masridzi Sat. The president of Islamist group Perkid, Sat recently spoke out against Cadbury chocolates. Why? Because traces of pig DNA were found in some Cadbury products. Apparently a little bit of pig DNA is enough to stop Muslims from consuming something, but downing camel piss is A-OK because the prophet said so.

“Because the person eats pork it is difficult to guide him to the right path,” Sat stated at a press conference held by Perkid and other Islamist groups against Cadbury. Note how he did not cite any scientific evidence for his claim. “When the day of judgment comes, that person will be wearing a pig face because of what he has eaten.” Uhh, what?! Good luck backing up that completely ridiculous assertion…

Sat also demonstrated the true peace of Islam during this press conference. Instead of discussing negotiations with Cadbury, he went to what Muslims believe is the next logical step: JIHAD!!!! Well, maybe minus the caps lock. “We need to unite, we must declare jihad!” Yep, totally peaceful. Jihad against a company because of a little bit of pig DNA. Seems like a completely proportionate and fitting reaction.

Aside from being a world-class idiot, Sat is also a homophobe and hater of the west. In a 2012 speech, he stated that the “enemies of Islam” were trying to capitalize on Muslim politicians’ infighting. He also criticized a popular festival because it was a little too tolerant for his tastes: “Seksualiti Merdeka [a Kuala Lumpur festival] promotes homosexuality, something that is forbidden by Allah, as a Muslim in an Islamic country like Malaysia, we also have full rights to reject such immoral event.” No one’s forcing him to participate, yet Sat still makes a big deal about it. Why? Because Islam cannot coexist with things it has deemed haram (unclean.) This is why the west and political Islam will remain opposed.

That’s apparently wrong, according to video of a session at a recent “peace” conference held by IslamNet, an organization whose website is published in Norwegian.



An unidentified speaker is rallying the crowd around the idea that Muslims are moderate.



The crowd affirms that they consider themselves moderate, yet they still would impose the prescribed penalties.



The speaker says critics constantly “come with the same accusations, this speaker supporters the death penalty for homosexuals … for this crime … he’s homophobic. ”



“They subjugate women, etc, etc. It’s the same old stuff coming all the time,” he says.



“I try to tell them, it’s not that speaker that has these extreme radical views as you say. These are general views that every Muslim actually has. Every Muslim believes in these things. Just because they’re not telling you about it, or just because they’re not out there … doesn’t mean that don’t believe in it.”



To make his point, he asks Muslims in the room to raise a hand if they consider themselves “not extremists.”



Virtually all hands go up.



Then he asks: “How many of you agree men and women should sit separately?”



The response is the same.



“How many of you agree the punishments described in the Quran and Sunna, whether it is death, stoning for adultery, whatever it is, if it is from Allah and his messenger, that is the best punishment possible for humankind … and that is what we should apply in the world?”



Again, all hands rise.



The scene apparently was from IslamNet’s conference in Oslo last month. It was described as Scandinavia’s “largest Islamic peace conference where all are welcome, regardless of religion, nationality or denomination.”

FRENCH WOMAN SENTENCED TO 3 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR CURSING ISLAM AND MUSLIMS AT DUBAI AIRPORT

A horse trainer has been jailed for three months for cursing Islam and Muslims, assaulting and threatening residency and police officers and behaving rowdily at the airport while she was intoxicated.


The 33-year-old French woman trainer was said to be very drunk when she bypassed a long queue at the residency counter and urged an officer to finish her entry procedures quickly in March at Dubai International Airport.



Prosecution records said the French woman cursed the residency officer in public and verbally threatened him. Then she cursed the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs. She was also accused of assaulting a policewoman and made offensive remarks to her for being a Muslim in public. The horse trainer was additionally charged with cursing Islam and Muslims by calling them names and shoving her middle finger in the face of the policewoman. The defendant was charged with consuming three glasses of vodka.



When she appeared before the Dubai Misdemeanour Court, she denied all her accusations but admitted that she was drunk when the incident took place.



She pleaded not guilty contending that she did not remember what happened or how she behaved.



The court sentenced the French woman to three months in jail and fined her Dh7,000.



According to the primary ruling, she will be deported following the completion of her punishment.



Meanwhile her lawyer argued in court that her client was not familiar with the country's laws and asked the presiding judge to acquit her or grant her a lenient punishment.



The residency officer testified to prosecutors that the defendant avoided the queue and pounded her passport noisily on his counter before asking him to finish her entry procedures quickly.



-Immediately I asked her to wait in the queue. She yelled at me and used the f*** word. I could not convince to calm down, so I closed the counter and asked her to escort me to an office. She pointed her finger at my chest in a threatening manner and said she worked for shaikhs and that I would be in trouble. Then she acted rowdily inside the office and threw the papers and stationery to the floor. When my workmate tried to calm her down, she cursed the Department. Then we informed the airport's police office,- claimed the officer.



Meanwhile a policewoman claimed to prosecutors that she and her colleague failed to convince the French woman to rein in her behaviour.



-The breathalyser test confirmed that she was drunk. She cursed me and my colleague. She also cursed Islam and Muslims and called us dogs. She slapped me and scratched my face with her nails and tried to remove my headscarf when we tried to put her in detention,- claimed the policewoman.



The defendant admitted during prosecution questioning that she was drunk and denied cursing Muslims or Islam, contending that she did not remember how she acted.



She alleged that she wanted to finish her entry procedures quickly in order to catch up with her friends.



The primary ruling remains subject to appeal within one week.

TWO MUSLIM BROTHERS PLEAD GUILTY TO PLANNING TO ATTEND JIHAD TRAINING CAMP IN SYRIA

Two brothers have pleaded guilty to conspiring to go to a terror training camp in Syria.

Mohommod Hassin Nawaz, 30, and 24-year-old Hamza Nawaz, both from Dirleton Road, Stratford, were stopped by the police in September last year as they arrived at the port of Dover from Calais. When officers searched their car they found a balaclava, six mobile phones, some “heavy-duty clothing” and five rounds of ammunition.



They were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and taken to a London police station, where they were subsequently charged on September 22 last year.



Appearing at the Old Bailey today they pleaded guilty to conspiring together between January 1 2012 and September 16 2013 to going to a place used for terrorism training knowing or believing that instruction or training provided would be used for purposes connection with the commission of preparation of acts of terrorism.



Mohommod Hassin Nawaz also admitted possessing ammunition on September 16 2013 without a firearm certificate.



The pair, who will be sentenced on June 9 2014 at the Old Bailey, were remanded in custody.



Deputy Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball, senior national co-ordinator for counter terrorism said: “Travelling abroad to engage in terrorist-related activity is a serious offence and we will continue to prosecute, where appropriate, anyone engaged in this type of activity.



“Our concerns include the actions of people who have attended terrorist training camps or who have fought in war zones, as well as the possibility that they return to the UK radicalised. The police work with partners to identify individuals of concern in order to manage the risk they may pose.”

The smallest of children, age 2, her mother complained of strong pain and tears when she found out, asked who had provoked and less accused the magnet. In the nearest hospital, an examination confirmed that the child had been the victim of rape, after which the woman put complaint against the imam and he was arrested.

MUSLIM MOB KILLS GAY MAN LAUNCHES HUNT FOR HIS PARTNER "TO REMOVE CURSE" (GHANA)

A group of Muslim youth from Nima in Accra has mounted a search for a young man believed to be a homosexual, after allegedly lynching his gay partner.



DAILY GUIDE gathered that Salisu Mohammed, a suspected homosexual, escaped the wrath of the angry youth of the area by a hair’s breadth when he was alerted by a family friend about the intended attack.



He subsequently left the area and has since gone into hiding.



A source told DAILY GUIDE that Salisu was a known homosexual in the area, and all advice by Islamic clerics and family, for him to change his sexual orientation had fallen on deaf ears. However, the real trouble began when another suspected homosexual by name Yaw Nkrumah came to live in the area, and the pair started flaunting their romantic relationship in the Muslim-dominated area.



The source revealed that matters got to a head last week when two men, whose identities DAILY GUIDE could not establish at the time of going to press, confronted Yaw Nkrumah about his ‘ignominious’ relationship with Salisu, and the former called their bluff, resulting in a scuffle. The two men went to mobilize about 30 men who stormed the house of Yaw Nkrumah, where they stripped him naked and lynched him.



Not satisfied, the group proceeded to the house of Nkrumah’s partner, Salisu, but the latter had prior information of their arrival, and escaped just in the nick of time.



DAILY GUIDE gathered that the youth had resolved to hunt down the young man in order to eliminate what they referred to as a “curse”.



In an interview, Inspector Kwadwo Osei, the Crime Officer for Nima Divisional Police said sometimes it was difficult for the police to identify who were involved in mob actions.



“My brother, these people would not open up to you when you try to establish who killed the young man (Yaw Nkrumah) and are pursuing his partner. They don’t see it as helping in investigations; they see it as snitching. And that community (Nima) frowns upon snitching”.



Meanwhile, the body of Yaw Nkrumah has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy.

A security guard who kept his pregnant partner a prisoner in her own home before strangling her to death has today been sentenced to 17 years in jail.



Mohammed Badiuzzaman, 35, of no fixed abode, murdered mother-of-three Sabeen Thandi, 37, of Disraeli Road, Forest Gate, “in a fit of rage” after learning she had begun a relationship with another man, police said.



During the trial at the Old Bailey, jurors heard how three months before Sabeen’s death on July 7, Badiuzzaman had pressured her into marrying him.



His reign of terror also saw her forced to wear a hijab and unable to leave house, even to go to her work as a doctor’s receptionist.



About a month before her death, Sabeen had visited a solicitors in Watford and days later won a non-molestation order from Watford County Court against Badiuzzaman, preventing him from entering her home.



But Badiuzzaman forced her to revoke the order, threatening her with never seeing her son again.



When it became clear she had been coerced, the solicitors’ called police who arrested but later released Badiuzzaman on suspicion of threats to kill and unlawful imprisonment.



An abandoned phone call from her home led them to the discovery of her lifeless body in a bedroom but only after Badiuzzaman had lied to officers, telling them she had not returned from work.



Despite attempts to revive her, Sabeen was confirmed dead at Newham University Hospital.



Det Insp Euan McKeeve said: “This tragedy has left three children without a loving mother in the prime of her life.”

PREGNANT WOMAN STONED TO DEATH OUTSIDE COURT HOUSE BY FAMILY MEMBERS FOR MARRYING A MAN OF HER CHOICE (PAKISTAN)

Lahore, Pakistan — A woman was stoned to death by her own family in front of a Pakistani high court on Tuesday for marrying the man she loved, police and a defense lawyer said.



Nearly 20 members of the woman’s family, including her father and brothers, attacked her and her husband with batons and bricks in broad daylight before a crowd of onlookers in front of the high court of Lahore, said police official Naseem Butt. He said Farzana Parveen, 25, had married Mohammad Iqbal, with whom she had been engaged for years in opposition to her family.




Her father had filed an abduction case against her husband, which the couple was contesting, her lawyer Mustafa Kharal said.



Arranged marriages are the norm among conservative Pakistanis, who view marriage for love as a transgression.



Hundreds of women are killed every year in Muslim-majority Pakistan in so-called “honor killings” carried out by husbands or relatives as a punishment for alleged adultery or other illicit sexual behavior.



Kharal said Parveen’s relatives waited outside the court, which is located on a main downtown thoroughfare. As the couple walked up to the court’s main gate, the family members fired shots in the air and tried to snatch her from Iqbal, he said.



When she resisted, her father, brothers and other relatives started beating her, eventually pelting her with bricks from a nearby construction site, Iqbal said.



Iqbal, 45, said he started seeing Parveen after the death of his first wife, with whom he had five children.



“We were in love,” he told The Associated Press. He alleged that the woman’s family wanted to fleece money from him before marrying her off.



“I simply took her to court and registered a marriage,” infuriating the family, he said.



Butt, the police official, said Parveen’s father surrendered after the incident and called the murder an “honor killing.”



The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, a private organization, said in a report last month that some 869 women were murdered in so-called honor killings in 2013.

The traditional Islamic ninja costume is frequently compared to bank robber attire, and rightly so. Saudi Muslimah Ranya al-Huthaili, who was attending college in the US on the Saudi government’s dime, decided the comparison of garments was apt enough to actually try robbing a bank.

al-Huthaili held up a total of five banks. She had reportedly lived a “life of privilege” in her native Saudi Arabia, but apparently the criminal urge took over. After the fifth robbery, al-Huthaili was caught trying to buy herself a laptop with the stolen money and taken into custody.

What was her motivation? According to her family, she had been swept off her feet by a man who claimed to have been a mafia hitman who needed money to pay for cancer treatment. Sounds more like the pilot of some upcoming AMC drama than real life. When the truth about her spending was made known, the judge threw away the notion of leniency despite the Muslimah’s guilty plea.

In court, al-Huthaili’s lawyer said she had been trained her whole life to be submissive due to her upbringing in Saudi Arabia. He attempted to blame her crime spree on this, kind of like a form of late-blooming adolescent rebellion. However, the judge didn’t buy it. al-Huthaili was sentenced to 3.5 years behind bars.

Many who wish for Islamic garments which partially or fully cover the face to be banned have already cited this case as an argument for their position. Meanwhile, supporters of allowing the burqa, niqab, and their ilk are hoping this story gets swept under the rug.

Nigeria's military has said that it knows the location of nearly 300 girls abducted last month from their school dormitory in Chibok, Borno State in northeastern Nigeria by members of the Islamic militant group Boko Haram.



According to the Nigerian Punch, the Nigerian Chief of Defense Staff Air Vice Marshal Alex Badeh, said that the Nigerian military has located the girls but would not attempt to use force to rescue them so as not to endanger their lives.

Badeh's comments, while addressing members of a pro-government group, Citizens Initiative for Security Awareness, at the Defense Headquarters in the federal capital Abuja, reflects the felt need by the Nigerian authorities to counter negative portrayal of the Nigerian security forces and the government in the Western media.



"We want our girls back. I can tell you that our military can and will do it, but where they are held, can we go there with force? Nobody should say the Nigerian military does not know what it is doing. We can’t kill our girls in the name of trying to get them back," he said, according to Vanguard Nigeria.



He continued: "We know where they are, but we cannot tell you. We cannot come and tell you the military secret... we are working to get the girls back."



He defended the Nigerian security forces, recalling how Nigerian military intervention helped to restore democracy in Liberia and Sierra Leone. He contrasted the military's mission in Sierra Leone and Liberia with the Boko Haram insurgency, saying it was a different crisis because it is a conflict involving Nigerians killing other Nigerians.



The Associated Press reports that a US Defense spokesman said the department could not confirm the reports.



This is the first time that the Nigerian government has publicly admitted that it knows the whereabouts of the girls although there is evidence that the military has had knowledge of their location for some time but was bogged down with decision-making on how to act on a matter perceived in Nigerian official circles as essentially a political fifth column issue rather than a conflict with an outside terrorist organization.

"QUESTIONS NEED TO BE RAISED ABOUT THE ACCREDITATION,PUBLIC FUNDING AND CHARITY STATUS OF THE ORGANIZATIONS INVOLVED" NEW REPORT REVEALS MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD HAS ESTABLISHED A "SIGNIFICANT PRESENCE" IN CANADA

TORONTO — The Muslim Brotherhood has established a “significant presence” in Canada, says a study released Tuesday that asks whether the government should follow the lead of the United Kingdom and launch an investigation into the group.



Calling the Brotherhood the “antithesis” of Canadian laws and values, the study urged Ottawa to deny public support and charity status to organizations aligned with the group, which promotes political Islam as an alternative to Western-style democracy.



The report is “intended to focus public attention on the requirement to have a national level discussion on the Muslim Brotherhood and its role in Canada,” said Tom Quiggin, the former Privy Council intelligence analyst who authored the study.



Mr. Quiggin, a court-recognized expert on terrorism, wrote the study without government or private funding. “Questions need to be raised about the accreditation, public funding and charity status of the organizations involved,” he said.



The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in the 1920s by the Egyptian cleric Hassan Al-Banna, whose writings were hostile to the West and envisioned its downfall, proposing instead a “world living under the tranquility of Islam.”



To achieve this, he called for reforms that included mandatory memorization of the Koran in schools, igniting “the spirit of Islamic jihad” in youths, censorship of music and films, and confiscation of books and newspapers.



Almost a century later, the Muslim Brotherhood is a controversial revivalist movement and political party in the Middle East. It is facing a crackdown in its home base, Egypt, following the ouster of Mohamed Hersi by the military.



The report comes a month after Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney announced the International Relief Fund for the Afflicted and Needy — Canada (IRFAN) had been placed on Ottawa’s list of banned terrorist groups. According to the Canada Revenue Agency, IRFAN had merged with the Jerusalem Fund for Human Services, which was allegedly set up by a Muslim Brotherhood committee.



IRFAN had funnelled $15-million to groups linked to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestinian branch, auditors claimed. IRFAN was a registered charity at the time but has since had its status revoked. The RCMP is investigating. IRFAN denies knowingly funding Hamas.



Ihsaan Gardee, executive director of the National Council of Canadian Muslims, declined to comment on what he called a “foreign political organization.” But he said the NCCM was not affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.



Writing in the Winnipeg Free Press on May 16, Mr. Gardee called an article about the Muslim Brotherhood co-authored by Mr. Quiggin a “conspiracy-laden diatribe that, in a sweeping stroke, smeared our long-standing Canadian organization as ‘terrorists’ and despicably suggested we intend to destroy Canada from within.”



“The government of Canada may wish to pursue a wider investigation into the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood with a particular focus on its activities in Canada and the USA. Cooperation or information sharing with the proposed investigation in the United Kingdom may be useful,” the report says.



Such a probe should examine which Canadian groups with Muslim Brotherhood affiliations have charity status and access to the government, it says. The Canada Border Services Agency may also want to screen foreign nationals for membership in the Brotherhood.



It also recommends the government consider requiring those advocating the spread of Muslim Brotherhood ideology to register as lobbyists. In addition, the report says charities receiving funding from overseas should be required to publicly report the sources of their foreign donations.
