Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and member of Taliban negotiation committee Maulana Samiul Haq has demanded of the government to enforce Sharia in the country as it is the only panacea to all problems being faced by Pakistan.
“Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam and it is desire of people of this country to witness implementation of Islamic system in its true sense,” Mr Haq said while addressing a ‘dastar bandi’ ceremony at Jamia Haqqania, Akora Khattak, on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by a large number of ulema.
He said that the people would not allow the US and its allies to use Pakistan’s soil for fulfilling their nefarious agenda against the Muslim Ummah. He criticised successive governments for failing to implement Islamic system in the country, adding that there would be no violence, terrorism and law and order problems if Sharia was implemented. He claimed that the Pakistan Army was trapped in a war against own people.
He regretted that Pakistan was fighting war of others on its own soil due to wrong policies of the rulers. He criticised the rulers for their foreign trips at a time when the country was facing serious threats and challenges.
“All infidel forces have joined hands against the Muslim Ummah,” he said and urged the Islamic states to shun differences and forge unity to face such challenges.
The JUI-S chief said that the enemies had been spreading baseless propaganda against Islam to prove Muslims as terrorists. He said that there was no room for acts of terrorism in Islam.
