Sadeq Abdallah bin al-Majed might have an eating disorder or two
Sudanese sheikh Sadeq Abdallah bin al-Majed is, like many other Muslims, completely delusional. Instead of recognizing the need to look at his fellow Muslims’ misbehavior, al-Majed created multiple tinfoil hat-esque conspiracies on which to blame the woes of his nation.
In the 2000′s, the Sudanese government and its Janjaweed (no, that is not a type of marijuana) militias made multiple incursions into the Darfur region, leaving millions dead or displaced. After much international outcry, the invasion stopped. The international intervention was the catalyst behind the split of Sudan. Of course, al-Majed didn’t possibly consider that the Janjaweed attacks on Darfur were an Islamic war of aggression against the largely Christian and Animist population of Darfur. Instead of acknowledging that Muslims were at fault for the slaughter, al-Majed claimed the entire thing had been an American machination: “The West, and the Americans in particular, have been planning this [Darfur intervention] for years… The reason is that they studied this region extensively – the Darfur region in particular – and realized that it is full of treasures, the likes of which have never been found elsewhere in Sudan… They [Americans] are behind all the tragedies that are taking place in Darfur.” Uhh, it’s a f**king desert. Pretty sure any treasure there is just a mirage…
al-Majed is the leader of Sudan’s Muslim Brotherhood, and thus has to say as many completely absurd things as possible to retain his position. He stated he wouldn’t accept a Christian elected leader of Sudan (see how Islam has a “proud tradition of tolerance,” as Barack Hussein Obama put it?) al-Majed tried to defend his position with Islamic scripture, which just shows that Islam is incapable of integrating or coexisting with any other belief system: “Islam does not permit a non-Muslim to rule over Muslims.” As you can see, Islam teaches interfaith equality and is totally just like every other religion.
Now, on to a different subject: Jenny McCarthy. A well-known model, comedian, and anti-vaccine activist, McCarthy is the preferred “stimulant” material of many forever-alones. al-Majed might’ve issued a fatwa prohibiting the vaccination of children in a desperate hope to get attention from her. Like McCarthy, al-Majed opposes vaccines. Here’s McCarthy’s take on vaccines: “The idea that vaccines are a primary cause of autism is not as crackpot as some might wish. Autism’s 60-fold rise in 30 years matches a tripling of the U.S. vaccine schedule.” Though she didn’t cite her sources and doesn’t provide scientific basis for her claims, McCarthy makes a stronger point than the downright crazy al-Majed: “Allah be praised, the fact that I followed this [child vaccination] issue bore fruit, and thousands of children were saved from the claws of the Jewish movement, which is represented by… the Freemason movement, which is behind this. If the Jews could find a way to annihilate the people throughout the world, and ultimately have the rule to themselves – they would do it.”
I don’t even know where to begin with that. I mean, McCarthy’s a bit off-center, but al-Majed is completely out in left field. Freemasons, Jews… all these groups Muslims love to blame actually aren’t conspiring to dismantle society, contrary to Islamic delusions. Also, it’s incredibly ironic for an Islamist to accuse Jews of wanting to wipe everyone else out. I haven’t seen a clearer example of the pot calling the kettle black.
