Your Daily Muslim: Mohamed Mahmoud Sobhi

"Does my crazy make me look face?"

“Does my crazy make me look face?”

Egyptian actor Mohamed Mahmoud Sobhi sure is talented at playing a crazy guy… oh wait, he isn’t acting. The aging Islamic actor is the latest in a long line of Muslims to believe the anti-Semitic work of fiction known as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is not only true, it is still applied today. Sobhi also enjoys making up wildly inaccurate stories about American historical figures, and even puts them in positions they did not hold, including a reference to “President Benjamin Franklin.”

“[1787] was when Franklin delivered his speech to the American people,” Sobhi said during a televised interview. “[Franklin] said: ‘I warn you that if these terrorist groups of Jews flock to America, they will control American decision-making within a hundred years. They will control America itself, and will trample us underfoot.’” I don’t know, Jews have been here an incredibly long time and they don’t control our government. Muslim groups (namely the Muslim Brotherhood), on the other hand, seem to be actively trying to infiltrate the White House. As for Sobhi’s accusation that Jews are terrorists: that’s really rich, coming from a Muslim.

“[Franklin] warned America of this as early as 1787,” Sobhi continued. “You’ll see when you read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The people who bought 200 copies of the book, when we aired the Horseman Without a Horse TV series on this very channel… Back then, university students brought copies of the book with them. Read those 24 protocols.” It’s quite unfortunate that even a university education hasn’t made young Egyptian minds collectively reject hateful and intolerant ideas… I’d imagine Islam has something to do with that.
