Former Perlis Mufti Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin says that Adolph Hitler, in his actions against the Jews, could have just been right.
In his article in news portal Astro Awani, he laid out his arguments for saying soAsri wrote the article when he was in Osnabruck, Germany. At the Friday prayers he had attended at a mosque there, the Imam called for the congregation to join a peaceful demonstration to protest the atrocities being committed by Israel on the Palestinians.
Asri said he saw the need for such a call as a big demonstration had been held in Berlin to support Israel’s action.
He further explained that prior to his visit the Germany, he had read the book by Seymour Rossel, The Holocaust. A Jew, Rossel defended the Jews and attacked Hitler totally.
Asri admitted that Hitler was certainly a cruel dictator, not only killing Jews but all who opposed him. However, he asked the question why Hitler had declared the Jews a dangerous race, threatening and endangering Germany.
According to Asri, while Hitler, in his book Mein Kampf, accused the Jews of causing the economic oppression of the Germans, he was not the person who initiated the belief that the Jews were a destructive race.
