An Islamic preacher who urged for gay people to be thrown off mountains and says homosexuality is an “abominable action which goes against humanity” has been barred from attending an event at the University of East London.
Murtaza Khan was due to speak at UEL’s Islamic Society’s Annual Dinner on Thursday along with Uthman Lateef – but it’s now been cancelled following concerns expressed by campaigners.
Lateef has previously said: “We don’t accept homosexuality…we hate it because Allah hates it”, whilst Khan has suggested that the Bible recommends Christians throw gay people from the tops of mountains.
