Noor Hussain being old
“Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance – [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever exalted and grand.” -Qur. 4:34
Brooklyn, NY. Pakistani immigrant Muslim Noor Hussain, 75, was just following the commands of his precious Qur’an when he repeatedly hit his wife, Nazar, with a stick. Nazar prepared a vegetarian dinner for the couple, which Hussain deemed unsuitable for his palate – he wanted goat inside of him. Because of his inability to consume goat at that moment and his unwillingness to cook some for himself, Hussain became angry at his wife. The argument grew heated with expletives abound. Hussian then felt his wife needed to be punished in accordance with Allah’s law.
That punishment proved fatal, as Hussain smashed the stick across Nazar’s face repeatedly. In court, his defense attorney used the bullsh*t “cultural differences” argument to try to have leniency shown on her client: “He comes from a culture where he thinks this is appropriate conduct, where he can hit his wife… He culturally believed he had the right to hit his wife and discipline his wife.” Abuse isn’t acceptable in any culture worthy of respect. Abuse is an act of savages. When idiot appeasers like Hussain’s attorney suggest we lend credibility to the practices of the seventh century because of “cultural tolerance” or “multiculturalism,” they need to envision themselves in the shoes of the victim, then rethink their stance.
This wasn’t the first time Hussain had hit his wife. Neighbors, also Pakistani immigrants, told police they were aware of the ongoing abuse Nazar had received. You’d think someone would call the cops… oh wait, we’re dealing with Muslims here. Women’s rights aren’t a particularly high priority for them.
How did Hussain try to deal with what he had done? He called his done for assistance in disposing of the body. “I killed her,” he told his son over the phone. “Hurry up and come over.” If I received that kind of call from my father, I sure as hell wouldn’t help out; I’d get the cops on his ass and have him put behind bars. The more Muslims who enter the country and the more people turn a blind eye to the abuse, the more Nazar Hussains there will be.
