For someone who hates pork, Masridzi Sat sure is hammy…
You know your country’s in trouble when you start taking the blithering rants of religious idiots seriously. You know you’re in even deeper trouble when said idiots have some degree of governmental influence. For those wondering, the country I’m talking about here is Malaysia and the idiots are seventh-century celebrants like Islamic scholar Masridzi Sat. The president of Islamist group Perkid, Sat recently spoke out against Cadbury chocolates. Why? Because traces of pig DNA were found in some Cadbury products. Apparently a little bit of pig DNA is enough to stop Muslims from consuming something, but downing camel piss is A-OK because the prophet said so.
“Because the person eats pork it is difficult to guide him to the right path,” Sat stated at a press conference held by Perkid and other Islamist groups against Cadbury. Note how he did not cite any scientific evidence for his claim. “When the day of judgment comes, that person will be wearing a pig face because of what he has eaten.” Uhh, what?! Good luck backing up that completely ridiculous assertion…
Sat also demonstrated the true peace of Islam during this press conference. Instead of discussing negotiations with Cadbury, he went to what Muslims believe is the next logical step: JIHAD!!!! Well, maybe minus the caps lock. “We need to unite, we must declare jihad!” Yep, totally peaceful. Jihad against a company because of a little bit of pig DNA. Seems like a completely proportionate and fitting reaction.
Aside from being a world-class idiot, Sat is also a homophobe and hater of the west. In a 2012 speech, he stated that the “enemies of Islam” were trying to capitalize on Muslim politicians’ infighting. He also criticized a popular festival because it was a little too tolerant for his tastes: “Seksualiti Merdeka [a Kuala Lumpur festival] promotes homosexuality, something that is forbidden by Allah, as a Muslim in an Islamic country like Malaysia, we also have full rights to reject such immoral event.” No one’s forcing him to participate, yet Sat still makes a big deal about it. Why? Because Islam cannot coexist with things it has deemed haram (unclean.) This is why the west and political Islam will remain opposed.
