MUSLIM MAN CHARGED WITH TRYING TO RECRUIT FOR JIHADI GROUP AND GLORIFYING KILLING OF THE "ENEMIES OF ISLAM"BY POSTING VIDEOS AND MESSAGES ON THE INTERNET(GERMANY)

Prosecutors say they have charged a German man with trying to recruit members and supporters for an Islamic extremist group by posting videos and messages on the Internet.

Federal prosecutors said Thursday that the 27-year-old, identified only as Alexander Abit J. in keeping with German privacy rules, is accused of seeking recruits for the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, which is active in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

They say he posted videos as well as audio and text messages online between October 2009 and January 2011, using various aliases. He is accused of glorifying the group's fight against "enemies of Islam" and the killing of non-believers.

The charges were filed at a Munich state court last month. It wasn't immediately clear when a trial might start.
